How to Get A Commission

  1. Check that I’m Open: Check this Trello card, which I’ll update when I’m officially open.
Commission Status: Next Opening TBD

I also announce when I’m open on my various social media profiles: Twitter, FurAffinity, and Tumblr. Please don’t ask directly!

  1. Confirm the Details: ask any questions about the content and price if they are listed. Reference the Price Sheet to get a good idea about how much your commission will cost.
  2. Gather Your Reference(s): see the requirements below. This will vary depending on the type of commission.
  3. Submit the Quote Form: This is where you let me know all your fantastic ideas!
  4. Get Excited, Be Patient: Allow around 3 business days for a response.

Artistic Reference Requirements

For all commissioned works, a visual artistic references is required. Such a reference should include:

  1. Clear Features: Anatomy, markings, colors, and accessories.
  2. Flat Colors / No Shading: This allows distinguishing between markings and gradients from shadows or other artifacts of light.
  3. Colors: Include plain, unlit colors on the reference itself. I also accept hex codes (e.g. #FFB29D). Alternatively, I offer two other options:
    1. Design and apply a palette: 50% upcharge
    2. Grayscale colors for the same cost as flat colors

Non-visual/text references can be appropriate in some situations, such as reference sheet commissions. However, for other kinds of commissions, this will incur a fee equal to 20% of the final commission price.

Alteration/Approval Process

You will be sent a couple sketches prior to completion of the line work. It’s at this point you may request changes so the piece is to your liking. I will also share progress of piece at the flat color stage in order to confirm character details like markings and coloring. However, there will be an additional charge for major changes such as character pose, expression, or general idea of the piece.

Payment

  1. Price: Before submitting the Quote Form, you can use the Price Sheet to get an idea of what a commission may cost. The amount on your invoice is the price you’ll pay, not including additional charges for major alterations after work has already started (see previous section).
  2. Payment in Full: Required before work is started on a piece. Once a price is agreed upon, this amount will appear on an invoice you’ll be sent.
  3. Refunds: Offered in limited scenarios. You agree to incur any charge related to refund payments.
    1. Before any sketch has been done: 90%
    2. Before flat colors completed: 20%
